Everyone is buzzing about Netflix series; we are very excited about the upcoming show “Alexander the Great,” hitting closer to home for us. Egypt and Morocco have been selected as locations where some of the scenes will be shot. Shooting will start in Egypt in the Siwa Oasis in the western desert in February, with director Jack Holland scheduled to visit Cairo January 23 for interviews and inspections.
Egyptians artists have been contracted, including producer Magdy Nour and Khaled Safwat, to “take charge of technical affairs, provided that a number of young Egyptian actors graduating from the acting studio of the artist Hossam Dagher,” according to FilFan.
Now, why Siwa?
Siwa was a significant location for Alexander the Great as it was there he received the blessing by Ancient Egyptian priests to become the legitimate Pharaoh of Egypt.
