In partnership with the Zamalek Art Gallery, the Four Seasons hosted the Contemporary Art Exhibition Launch, a cocktail reception at the Beach restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria. The artwork showcased fueled creativity, inspired beauty and ignited minds. One artist whose work really caught our attention is Yasmine El Hazek.
Sculptor, etcher, painter and Solo Exhibitioner at Zamalek Art Gallery, Yasmine sees the art in the world and tries to show people how she sees things. She states, “As an artist, I always explore new avenues, and gain new skills. Sculpting has always fascinated me, and I took it upon myself to add different elements to my exhibitions. Seeing my characters come to life, and being able to feel around them and see them from different angles adds to the personification of my art pieces. It makes them more real.”
Born and raised in Cairo, Yasmine started her artistic career from a young age. She developed a keen interest in people, and devoted the start of her artistic expertimations to portraying them. She often roams the streets of Cairo sketching people and their surroundings, capturing the beauty that many passers-by could easily overlook. Having studied in Cairo, Los Angeles and Florence, Yasmine took part in a number of group exhibitions, including the Masterpieces exhibition in Zamalek Art Gallery featuring prominent artists, as well as many solo exhibitions. Currently, she’s working on life-size sculptures.
Although art is best appreciated in person, we invite you to look through her past exhibitions. “I implore you to open your eyes and your mind to my world and perceive it as you may.” -Yasmine El Hazek
