Dove Cameron has what they call in the industry, “it.” You might have first seen her on Disney Channel, where she played twins on the show “Liv and Maddie” back when she was 16. But now, at 22, she plays Cher in Clueless the Musical off Broadway and performing eight shows a week, and we 
can’t get enough of her.
After growing up in Washington and spending time in India where her parents used to design jewelry, her mother moved her and her sister to L.A. when she was about 15. She claims the success of Liv & Maddie occurred overnight, which led to her ubiquitous presence. Since starring in Disney’s Descendants franchise as the conflicted daughter of Maleficent (played by her spiritual twin Kristen Chenoweth), her digital fandom has skyrocketed. Dove’s Instagram boasts 23 million followers.
But Dove is slowly beginning to take on more and more projects outside of Disney, and she’s handling her transition to more mature projects with grace. You won’t see her up in the tabloids like other former Disney stars—nope, not Dove. She played Ruby Hale on the most recent season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and viewers and critics alike were impressed with her portrayal of the character. She has also starred in two live musical productions: Hairsprayand Mamma Mia! So yes, this girl can sing. She’s played other roles, but our favorite is her current role in Clueless the Musical. We cannot imagine anyone more fit for this iconic role.
Not to mention she is the street style inspo we should all look out for!
