The UAE hosted the world’s third ever Modest Fashion Week on December 8 and 9 at Burj Park in Dubai. This was after the first one was held at Istanbul and later on in London.
The world’s top modest bloggers, insta-famous influencers and designers attended the event as it introduced many new styles and trends for the next season. The weekend opened with a group show from Turkish e-tailer Modasina. Model Halima Aden walked the runway for designer Rasit Bagzibagli, wearing a stunning baby pink dress and beautiful detail on the cape.
As is traditional for any fashion week, half the outfits worth paying attention to were worn off the runway. Model Mariah Idrissi shows us how it’s done with her effortlessly edgy outfit of clashing prints and textures, all sourced from high-street fave Zara, capped with a classic bag and avant-garde jewellery.
Several talks were held, From Nike to The Cover of Vogue – Why Representation Matters being the biggest one of them all, with designer Dina Tokio, model Halima Aden, runner Manal Rostom, travel vlogger Haifa Beseisso and Miss Universe contestant Muna Jama.
