Who is Jamila Awad when she is not playing Hania in the Ramadan sensation Taht El Saytara (Under Control)?

This girl has certainly caught the eyes of TV fans this year with her role as Hania, the young school-girl who becomes a drug addict. Jamila Awad surprised the public with her talent and her courage to present such a role.
A rebellious young girl, Hania represents the struggle of a whole generation of resisting the many temptations that they are presented with. She’s a smart girl, with good grades until she starts skipping school to go away with her boyfriend, dumping one guy for another shamelessly and experimenting with drugs & alcohol.
The show discusses the appeal of such behavior in the younger generations that find these things readily available and the serious drawbacks of being under the control of the drugs, ruining the girl’s life.
She comes from a very artistic family; granddaughter of famous comedian Mohamed Awad, her father is director Adel Awad. Her mother was also an actress, Randa Mohamed Ali, Lebanese-Egyptian actress in the 80s & 90s. She is used to the spotlight and clearly enjoys it and wants to follow in the footsteps of her family.
Jamila Awad studied Political Science for two years at the British University (BUE) but decided to change paths and switched to majoring in Media at MSA University for Modern Sciences and Arts.
Jamila has been experimenting with many kinds of artistic endeavors, such as singing, acting, presenting and she even tried her hand at directing an advertisement. You can check it all out on her YouTube channel ‘Jamila Awad.’
Jamila is certainly lucky to land her first acting role in the hit show Taht El Saytara starring alongside Nelly Karim and Tunisian star Dhafer El Abidine as well as many others.
